Tournaments

Eastside Squash hosts both junior and open tournaments on a regular basis. Check out our calendar for details.

Gentle Squash

'Gentle Squash' is a low impact, fun and friendly alternative to the game of Squash. Gentle Squash is designed to minimise running, whilst improving upper body movement and hand-eye coordination. Players hit a large foam ball straight onto the front wall, unlike unrestricted squash where balls may hit the sidewalls first. The alternative rules allow for longer and friendlier rallies between players. Frequent breaks are encouraged with games and break both in 5-minute blocks.

Gentle Squash generates better health, fitness and agility, leaving the players with a general feeling of well being. Trials over several weeks have improved people's weight and even reduced their medication.

Gentle Squash is supervised by a friendly qualified coach, who advises and encourages overall game and fitness improvement.

Gentle Squash is held every Friday afternoon at 1.30pm and Sunday at 3.30pm. The first lesson is FREE, with a session fee for subsequent lessons. Afterwards coffee/tea is provided free of charge. Players are encouraged to stay for a chat.

All rackets and balls are provided, all that we ask is that you bring non-marking soled shoes, a towel for a shower and lots of enthusiasm.

For enquiries or costs please call Eastside Squash Centre.
